This carob banana ice cream basically tastes like soft serve chocolate ice cream, it's that good. Thick, creamy, and chocolaty--what could make a better treat? We love making this on a hot summer day or when we are craving something chocolate and sweet.
For those who have not heard of carob, it is very similar to cacao powder. Carob, however, has a caramel flavor with the slightest hint of pure dark chocolate. Aside from being delicious in smoothies and nicecream, carob has many wonderful health benefits, including:
Time: 5 minutes Serves: 1-2
3-4 frozen bananas
2 tbsp carob powder
1 tbsp maca powder
2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
Dried mission figs
1. Blend the frozen bananas with the carob powder and a splash of nut milk.
2. Mix on high until the nice-cream is fully blended and creamy. If you don't have a high powered blender, helps to blend in intervals or use a utensil to help mix while the blender is OFF.
When the nicecream is done blending, its finally time to add your toppings and enjoy!
