We love matcha powder, which is the powder from finely ground green tea leaves. It offers the same benefits as drinking green tea does, but by consuming it in powder form, you receive 100% of the nutrients from the leaf. Here are just some of the many benefits matcha provides:
Cook time: 10 minutes Serves 1-2
1 cup oatmeal
2 cups coconut milk
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp YourSuperfood's matcha powder
1 tsp chai spices (we used Raw Spice Bar's Chai Peppercorn)
1/8 tsp sea salt (optional)
1. In a cooking pan, combine oats, coconut milk, maple syrup, chai spices, sea salt (optional), and vanilla over medium/high heat.
2. Reduce heat and let simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently until the oatmeal becomes thick. Once the oats are finished cooking, stir in the matcha powder (this ensures the beneficial properties aren't destroyed by high heat.)
3. Serve in bowls topped with fresh berries, kiwi fruit, coconut, hemp seeds, and peanut butter if desired.
