Fall is here, which means pumpkin spice lattes, warm coffee, spiced apple cider, and pumpkin pies are back. Not going to lie, the moment September came, my sister and I bought a bunch of ginger-infused teas, pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice, apples, and pears. Bring on pumpkin spice season!
In celebration of fall, my sister and I will be sharing 6 fall-inspired oatmeal recipes with you guys, including:
First on the list is Apple Pie Oatmeal, which makes for a flavorful, hearty breakfast, infused with a warming apple-spice flavors and ideal for a chilly fall morning.
Cook time: 5 minutes Serves: 2
1 cup oatmeal
2 cups almond milk
1 apple, chopped
1 tsp cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1 tbsp flaxseed
1 tsp vanilla
1. On a cutting board, chop the apple into small pieces. Next, add a splash of almond milk to a cooking pot over medium heat. Add the chopped apples and cinnamon and let simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add more almond milk if needed.
2. Add the almond milk, oatmeal, cinnamon, flax seed, vanilla, and maple syrup to the cooking pot. Lower heat and stir occasionally until the oats thicken, 3-4 minutes.
3. Remove pot from stove and serve oatmeal in bowls topped with your favorite toppings (we recommend sliced apples, figs, almond butter, berries, banana, and pumpkin seeds) and enjoy.
