When summer temperatures soar, my sister and I swap our morning coffees for something cool and refreshing. Sometimes it's iced lemon water, other times a green juice, but recently, our go-to drink has been a homemade almond milk iced latte.
When we make our lattes, we love using our own homemade almond milk, and here's why: As mentioned in our previous post, making your own almond milk is far more healthy and economical than buying commercial brands, it's inexpensive and easy (and fun!) to make, and tastes amazing in this recipe for our Homemade Almond Milk Latte.
To make our almond milk, we use Ellie's Best Nut Milk Bag (for discount, use code twinskitchen for 10% off order!).
Now, to the recipe:
Total time: 5 minutes Serves: 1-2
2 cups homemade almond milk (recipe here)
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp ginger (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of black pepper
Pinch of cardamom
1. Pour homemade almond milk into a blender along with remaining ingredients, except for the ice. Blend for 1 minute, until fully combined.
2. Serve latte in glasses with ice and sprinkle with additional cinnamon and spices as desired. If you wish to enjoy this latte warm, pour blended mixture into a cooking pot over medium heat, and remove from stove before just before it boils to prevent it from becoming too hot.
